How to Size and Prepare a Digital Image
| The maximum size of the digital image can be no greater than 1024 pixels x 768 pixels
and no taller than 768 pixels A larger image will extend beyond the monitor/screen as projected. |
| |
| For a Horizontal oriented image, the size is 1024 pixels on the long side allowing the vertical size to adjust where it will with the 'Constrain Proportions' box checked. |
| |
| For a Vertical oriented image, the size is 768 pixels on the tall side allowing the horizontal size to adjust where it will with the 'Constrain Proportions' box checked. |
| |
| If you size a vertical image as 1024 pixels tall it will extend taller than the screen as projected so that only a portion of the image is showing. In this example, the head and shoulder will not show. |
| |
| If you have cropped an image in the proportions of a square, the height of the image will be the deciding factor and must not exceed 768 pixels. |
- Besides having the 'constrain proportions' checked, the 'resample image' should also be checked when sizing your image.
- Digital images should be flattened and saved as JPEG files.
- Convert the image to sRGB for the best projection. In Photoshop, this can be found under Image > Mode > Convert to sRGB or under Edit (CS2).
- Smaller images are acceptable.
- You may use the image quality as 7 or 8 when you save as a JPEG but the image should not exceed 350 kb.
| |
- Be sure to use the Check List before sending your images.
